Using Pinterest, Canva, or another digital "mood board" or "collage" creating program, create a collage for the top 7 emotions that you experience most often (these may not be the ones you experience the most intensely, but should be the ones that crop up for you with the most frequency).* For example: Anxious Inadequate Courageous Playful Peaceful Overwhelmed Apathetic
For your "collage" or "mood board", choose images that answer the following questions: 1. If this emotion was a vehicle what vehicle would it be? 2. If it was an animal, what animal would it be? 3. If it was a meal or food item, what meal or food item would it be? 4. If it was an outfit, what outfit would it be? 5. If it was a landscape, what landscape would it be? 6. If it was an activity, what activity would it be? 7. If it was a work of art, which artwork would it be? 8. If it was a scent, what scent would it be? 9. If it was a sound, what sound would it be? Choose an IMAGE to represent your answer to each of these questions and get as creative as you'd like. If you're creating a collage, I recommend doing a 3x3 grid for the 9 questions provided. This is a great way to get to know your emotions better and to more closely understand what they uniquely represent to you. We may think emotions are the same for everyone, but in reality, everyone experiences their emotions differently. There may be some overlap, but my relationship to and experience of anger will be vastly different than anyone else's, and the same is true for you and your emotions. *Feel free to use an emotion wheel to figure out your top 7 if that helps & try to choose a mix of positive/neutral and negative emotions. |
